strength & stability, to practice the craft, & Love be free,

the East, the wind the sky, watch over these pages

& knowledge, for these I do ask, that this
Book be
worthy of the craft & its task,
Powers of
South, Fire & hearth, help these Shadows
Prove their
worth; infuse them with your healing & passion,
So only good
comes the work that is fashioned,
Powers of
West, the Water, the Sea, change & growth are
Granted
thee, bless these pages with all you know,
That
righteous readers may learn & may grow,
& to the
untrained eye let see,
confusing

sacred

For freewill
of all,

"A Circle Of Ancient Stones"
I now cast my circle of crystal light...
to protect me in these sacred rites.
The light of yours shall glow around...
Through thy circle as guard and sound.
With thy holy sent I trace, the
circumference of this sacred space.

To bless this water Lord & Lady,
I ask, that I may use in thy rightful
tasks!
With thy Blessed water, I shall circle
round...
To purify all of thy sacred ground.

Here in the East, element of Air, I light
your way...

THE ALTAR
THE ALTAR IS SAID TO MOST POWERFUL IF FACING EAST, THE SIDE THE SUN RISES.
THE ALTAR USUALY CONTAINS
ON IT ALL THE TOOLS THAT ONE WILL NEED FOR CASTING THE
CIRCLE, AND CLEANSING THE CIRCLE,
AND FOR THE MAGIKAL WORK THAT ONE WILL BE DOING.
BASIC TOOLS MAY CONSIST OF,
AN OFFERING BOWL: OF WITCH
YOU WOULD PLACE WHAT YOU WISH TO GIVE TO THE LORD AND LADY.
CANDLES: A GOLD CANDLE ON
THE RIGHT OF YOUR ALTAR AND A SILVER CANDLE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF YOUR ALTAR, A
GOLD CANDLE FOR THE GOD AND THE SILVER ONE FOR THE GODDESS.
INCENSE: USED TO CLEANSE
YOUR CIRCLE WITH THE POWER OF AIR.
ABOWL OF SALT: USED TO
CLEANSE YOUR CIRCLE WITH THE POWER OF EARTH.
A BOTTLE OF RAIN WATER THAT
IS BLESSED: USED TO CLEANSE YOUR CIRCLE WITH THE POWER OF WATER.
AN ATHAME: A DOUBLE BLADED
KNIFE FROM WITCH YOU CAST YOUR CIRCLE USING THE POINT OF YOUR BLADE. THE ATHAME
SIMBOLIZES THE GOD.
A WAND: USED ALSO TO DIRECT
ENERGY. THE WAND SHOULD CONTAIN A CRYSTAL POINT AND IT REPRESENTS A TOOL OF AIR,
OF THE MIND.
A CHALICE: TO DRINK WINE OR
NATURAL FRUIT JUICE, OR EVEN USED TO CREATE YOUR MAGIKAL MIXTURES YOU MAY NEED
TO USE DURING YOUR WORKINGS. A CHALICE SYBOLIZES THE GODDESS.
ALSO, YOUR BOOK OF
SHADOWS: TRADITION SAYS IT SHOULD BE
MADE BY YOUR OWN HAND HOWEVER, THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT BOS’S OUT THERE MADE
VERY BEAUTIFULY THAT YOU CAN GIVE YOUR PERSONAL TOUCH TO. IT SHOULD BE YOUR
MAGIKAL AND EMOTIONAL DIARY OR JOURNAL.
YOUR ALTAR CAN BE FORMAL OR
SIMPLE WITCH EVER FEELS RIGHT FOR THE OWNER. IT SHOULD BE CREATED OF THE OWNERS
MANA, OR PERSONALITY. BE CREATIVE!!!!!
